If you’re using Apple hardware, you have a couple more steps.
You might see this:

Click OK then open System Settings and search for Security
in the search box:

Click the top-most result, and on the right side, scroll down to the bottom. You will see this:

Click the Allow anyway
button under it. Now you can go back to your terminal window and run ./adviser
normally.
